Every Minecraft player is familiar with this image. The panorama of this area in the game was used as a background image on the main menu screen.

This image appeared in the Minecraft Beta 1.8 version and was used for a very long time — it was changed only in version 1.13, and now with the release of each update, a new thematic picture is used.

It was clear that this was a fragment of the game world, but whether it was possible to visit it, whether it was possible to find this area in the game, no one knew.

Worlds in Minecraft are generated based on the generation key (sid) and, theoretically, there are an infinite number of worlds, i.e. before you start searching "on the ground", you also need to know the world generation key. In addition, during the development of the game, changes were made to the code responsible for generating the world, and with equal forces, a dissimilar landscape could be generated in different versions of the game.

It was hard to imagine that this world would ever be found.

But peace was found!
The user published a post in which he told that the mysterious world was found, and explained how anyone can visit the main menu of the game.

In order to get the original world, you need:

Install Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 (yes, this is before the release of Minecraft 1.0).
Create a new world by specifying the generator key: 2151901553968352745 or 8091867987493326313.
Walk to a point with coordinates: x=61.48, y=75, z=-68.73.
You are on the spot, you can take the same screenshot as shown at the beginning of this article.
Once you get to the place, you immediately realize that this is "the right place". Even the tree on the island is in place!

But even more interesting is how we managed to find this world.

How the world was found from the main menu told about how the search took place:

Projects can be very different. For example, thanks to him, "the tallest cactus in Minecraft" has already been found several times. Now it is a cactus with a height of 22 blocks, which can be found in Minecraft 1.14.4, in a world created with the generation key 11343195073417814 by coordinates 14 955 936, 64, -3 750 655.

I learned as much as possible about the panorama (the version of the game, the coordinates in the world, the exact Z coordinate — with the help of clouds) and shared my research on my discord server.

Last September, I talked about an ultra-tall cactus found by the participants of the Minecraft@Home project.

It was a 22-block-high cactus that grew in the middle of the Minecraft 1.14 desert.

This height seems crazy, but now the project participants have discovered a new record holder — a cactus with a height of 23 blocks.

He is only 1 block taller, and this seems to be a very small "step", but it took six months to find him, and each time the probability that there will be an even higher cactus decreases.

How to admire the tallest cactus in Minecraft yourself
To do this, install Minecraft 1.14.3, create a new world with the generation key (sid) 184693195438010998.

After entering this world, you need to teleport to the cactus using the command
/tp 16274576 64 10230656.

The search continues
Theoretically, this is not the tallest cactus that can be in the game. Given the features of the cactus generation algorithm in the game, there is a very small probability that a cactus with a height of 49 blocks will be generated in the game.

An update for Minecraft-1.19-called The Wild Update, was released on June 7, 2022. The update will include the long-awaited Warden Mob (Guardian, Guardian) and mangrove biome, as well as various related blocks that apparently promised to improve the usual swamp biome. The update wasn't very big.
